The Need for Today’s Shining Starsfeatured
Hello dear friends and neighbors of the Rio Grande Valley!
We all know that this age is getting darker and darker, just as predicted by the Bible, so what should be our response? To be todays’ shining stars!
I praise God that He is a speaking God, and when He speaks, He shines the light of life in and through us. Just like the moon reflects the sun’s light, so we as the church should be those that reflect God’s light.
God Longs to Use Us
Our precious Lord lived His life according to the Father’s life leaving us a pattern. May we be those that live according to His life and His anointing. God is actively moving in and through those that open up to Him in an authentic way. Let’s be that group of people here in the RGV that say, “Lord, here I am, use me!”
In the midst of darkness and confusion, may we express His light even more intensively, through our prayer, through our witnessing of Him, through our shepherding of others, and by “beholding and reflecting like a mirror the glory of the Lord” (2 Corinthians 3:18).
Will we say amen to His high calling? Remember that He is the Infinite Creator of the universe who wants to use you! May His kingdom be brought to the earth by those that live Him out. Our great God works through humanity, and He is in need of a group of bold people that hear Him and obey Him.
Don’t Keep the Lord Jesus in a Prison!
We need to be saved from keeping the Lord Jesus “locked up in a prison” inside of us. He longs to be expressed through us!
Do you remember the moment when He came into your heart? As we interact with Him, experience Him, enjoy Him, and understand Him and obey Him more, His life grows more and more. Then, as His life matures in us, He desires to flow through us into others for His propagation.
Ending This Age As Shining Stars
Have you ever noticed that as the night gets darker, the stars appear to shine brighter? May we be like the stars, that as this age gets darker, we shine the light of the Lord brighter!
As this age is ending, the Lord Jesus desires to come back to the earth and establish His kingdom on it. Why? Because He created it for His glory, and as we see in the book of Psalms, “The earth is Jehovah’s and its fullness” (Psalm 24:1).
Now, more than ever, we ought to be like the believers as seen in the epistle of Acts chapter two, full of vitality, going from one home meeting to the next, full of excitement, worshiping and praising Him everyday, calling on His name constantly, meditating on His word, and waiting on His return.
But I’m not talking about being like angels on the earth. He created millions (if not billions) of those beings. I’m referring to simply being a normal person, raising a family, keeping our house in orderly love, and being diligent in whatever kind of work the Lord has called us. Yet, in the midst of our normal day to day living, we would shine His light!
He is the light of the world (John 8:12), but let’s remember that He has called us to be the “the light of the world” (Matthew 5:14).
Praying For A Revival To End This Age
“And day by day, continuing steadfastly with one accord in the temple and breaking bread from house to house, they partook of their food with exultation and simplicity of heart, praising God and having grace with all the people. And the Lord added together day by day those who were being saved” (Acts 2:46-47).
May our prayer be that the Lord Jesus would come back soon. If we delight ourselves in Him, don’t you think the Lord Jesus will be stirred up to come back sooner? Or seeing it in a different way, why would He return to a lukewarm church, to one that is indifferent and that is enamored with the present age?
Before the Lord’s return, may He find us full of faith on the earth. That here in the RGV there would be a group of people that uphold and love His word. May He find us watching and fasting, praying and calling on His name, singing unto Him, and living unto Him!
“O Jehovah, revive Your work, In the midst of the years” (Habakkuk 3:2). My prayer is, “Lord, for those of us that treasure You here in the Valley, I pray that you enliven us, revive us, vitalize us, and strengthen us, so that Your light may be made manifest and increase through us, Amen.”
In Conclusion
May the Lord gain what He is after in us; let’s be reminded that our God is very active in and through us. He works through the principle of incarnation. And just as He was the Light of the world, now through us, He is still the Light of the world.
“That you may be blameless and guileless, children of God without blemish in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you shine as luminaries in the world” (Philippians 2:15).
