God Building in and through Usfeatured
Hi neighbors!
A deeper realization of what God desires to accomplish through us in the Valley was a bit more clear to me this last Lord’s day. God desires to move on in us to build His Body. The church in Harlingen hosted a “blending meeting” with other local churches in the Rio Grande Valley.
In case you are wondering, “Frank, what do you mean by ‘blending meeting?'” And my answer to that question is 1st Corinthians 12:24 “… But God has blended the body together…” The reason why we meet as believers in the local church is to be with each other, to get know each other more, to praise and worship God, sing unto Him, prophesy, and partake of the Lord’s table together. All of these activities are done with a goal in mind: To usher us into the reality of the Body of Christ.
The Blueprint of the Body of Christ
When one reads the Bible, it is clear that King David suffered much through many years of his life to fight and defeat God’s enemies with a view to establish the temple of God to bring in His kingdom on earth. It was King David who received the pattern (or blueprint) regarding the temple, but it was King Solomon who actually built it. Please note this verse: “Then David gave Solomon his son the pattern of the portico of the temple and its buildings and its storehouses and its upper rooms and its inner rooms and the building for the expiation cover; And the pattern of all that he had by the Spirit...” (1 Chronicles 28:11-12).
The Lord Jesus, just like King David, is described as a “man of sorrows and acquainted with grief” (Isaiah 53:3). Actually, Jesus Christ is the real David, as described in Matthew chapter 12.
The Wisdom to Build the Body of Christ
The Lord Jesus, through the Spirit, as the real David, has entered into us with the “blueprint” to build His church.
But as we all know, anything that has to be built requires materials and wisdom to put it all together. We see that King Solomon possessed an amazing God given wisdom to build the temple of God, according to the pattern given to King David. We also see that Christ as the real King Solomon (Matthew 12:42), is full of wisdom to build His church, the Body of Christ, which is the reality of the temple of God.
Advancing with the Lord to build His Body
It is amazing to realize that we, our own hearts, are the material for His building! We have received the Lord Jesus into our human spirit, as the real King David with the blue print, and as the real King Solomon with the wisdom to build the Body of Christ, the corporate temple of God.
So what should we do but go on with the Lord! We have received the baton to run this spiritual race to be those that build the Body of Christ:

- “I pursue toward the goal for the prize to which God in Christ Jesus has called me upward” (Phillipians 3:14),
- “Therefore let us also having so great a cloud of witnesses… run with endurance the race which is set before us” (Hebrews 12:1), and
- “I have fought the good fight; I have finished the race; I have kept the faith” (2nd Timothy 4:7).
Let’s run this race together as one!
